Narrative Directors. Story Tellers. Experience Makers.
TGA: This Great Adventure is a Narrative Direction studio.
We build the stories that drive complex cultural, communication and immersive digital projects.
To each new project we bring a passion for storytelling and deep international experience in narrative-led masterplanning, content development and experience design.
With this, we blend engagement and innovation with emerging technologies, interactive and immersive storytelling, and digital strategy.
Over three decades, we’ve delivered Narrative Direction for small, medium and national museums, Expo pavilions, Olympic Games, brand experiences, cultural quarters, historic sites, immersive performances and interactive heritage trails.
We use Narrative Direction to help organisations reimagine how they see, understand and express themselves.
To shape and share their stories in new ways.
To bring creativity, clarity and direction to their development and creative process.
And to support transformation through narrative-led training and mentoring for cultural change.
The Narrative Directors
-
Tim brings 30 years experience of applying Narrative Direction to some of the largest and most complex cultural projects in the world - national museums, cultural districts, world expos, global events and brand centres for multinational companies.
His work focuses on the framing stage, developing the core narrative that will hold together multiple participants, stakeholders, development partners and creative specialists over the life of the project.
Tim wrote The Natural History Museum Book of Dinosaurs, published internationally by Carlton Press.
He was awarded an MBE in 2000 for his cultural work with the UK’s faith communities.
“Vision is what you want to be. Mission is what you want to do. Objectives are how you’ll know if you’ve been it and done it.”
-
Alison is an expert in Narrative Direction for interpretation planning and content development. Her experience spans small, medium and national museums, cultural districts, as well as education with schools and universities.
Alison works at the development stage, translating complex research, community voices and stakeholder expertise into narrative experiences that work across every media.
Alison co-authored the Saying It Differently handbook for museums needing to update their interpretation, published by London Museums Hub.
She helped develop and deliver the MA Narrative Environments programme at UAL Central St Martins and has been a visiting lecturer since its foundation.
“Museums tell the world’s most important stories – either because they are of world importance, or most important in the worlds of those who tell them.”
